About this The Rock & Michamvi trip
The Rock sits on a coral outcrop just off Pingwe beach on the Michamvi peninsula. At low tide you walk out across the sand; at high tide a small boat takes you across. It is one of the most photographed places in Zanzibar, and tables are by reservation.
We take care of the driving and the timing. Tell us whether you want the 'floating' high-tide view or the walk across, and we plan your day around the tide table and your booked table.

Children and groups
Children are welcome at the restaurant. Low-tide walks cross wet sand and rock, so carry small children. Group rates are available for six or more travellers.

Send us your date, number of travellers and hotel. We confirm availability and the full price in USD before you pay. Changes and cancellations follow our booking terms. If weather or sea conditions make a trip unsafe, we reschedule or refund it.

Can you guarantee a table?
No. The Rock controls its own reservations. We help you book and confirm your trip once the table is confirmed.
Can I see the sunset there?
The Rock faces east, so the sun doesn't set over the sea in front of it. For sunset, stay on the bay side of Michamvi afterwards.
High tide or low tide?
High tide gives the 'floating' view. Low tide lets you walk across. Tell us which you prefer.
