About this Jozani Forest tour
Jozani-Chwaka Bay is Zanzibar's only national park, set in the south-central part of the island. It protects one of the largest remaining patches of the forest that once covered much of Zanzibar, plus mangroves along Chwaka Bay.
Most visitors come to see the Zanzibar red colobus, a monkey found nowhere else. A park guide leads you through the forest to the troops, then along a raised boardwalk through the mangroves.

Children and groups
Easy walking on flat paths. Children must stay with an adult and must not feed or touch the monkeys. Group rates are available for six or more travellers.

Jozani Forest tour FAQs
Will we definitely see monkeys?
Red colobus are usually easy to find near the forest edge, but they are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Can we feed or touch them?
No. Keep a respectful distance and never feed them. This protects the monkeys and you.
What should I bring?
Insect repellent, closed shoes and a light layer for the shaded forest.
