One of the most common questions we receive is about what's really included in the price — and where the money goes. This guide breaks down every component of a typical 1-day Mikumi fly-in safari so you can understand exactly what you're paying for. We believe in complete transparency.
The largest single variable. A private vehicle is now one flat rate per adult — $550 for a 1-day Mikumi fly-in, whatever the group size. The vehicle and guide cost is shared across your group.
Sharing safaris split the vehicle cost with other travellers (up to 7 per vehicle), bringing the price to $450/person. Private means exclusive use — higher per-person cost, total flexibility.
Different parks charge different entry fees. Ngorongoro Crater conservation fees are higher than Mikumi or Selous. Northern Circuit parks generally cost more due to longer flights.
Peak season (Jun–Oct) commands slightly higher accommodation rates for overnight safaris. Day-trip prices remain relatively stable year-round.
