About this horse riding
Riding along a Zanzibar beach at low tide, with the lagoon on one side and palms on the other, is one of the island's most photographed experiences. Guides lead every ride, and horses are matched to the rider's experience.
Choose a short beach ride, a longer route through village paths, or add a swim, where the horse wades into the shallows with you on its back.

Children and groups
Children can ride with a guide leading the horse. The stable sets minimum ages and weight limits. Group rates are available for six or more travellers.
Booking and cancellation
Send us your date, number of travellers and hotel. We confirm availability and the full price in USD before you pay. Changes and cancellations follow our booking terms. If weather or sea conditions make a trip unsafe, we reschedule or refund it.
Horse riding FAQs
I've never ridden. Can I join?
Yes. Beginners get a calm horse and a guide on foot or on horseback beside them.
Why does the time change?
Rides are timed to the tide so there is firm sand to ride on.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes. Stables commonly limit riders to about 85 kg for the horses' welfare. Tell us your weight when booking.
